Why does Mayella reveal that she has 7 siblings that are unhelpful and that she had a drunken father and no friends? Why is this important to the trial? Why would Atticus ask these questions?

Weel, I think that the fact that she has 7 siblings shows that someone should have been around to hear her scream, but there wasn't. Atticus showed that her father was drunk to make the jury see that he could have beaten Mayella.
