You are a bone head. She is telling the book looking back upon her past. She is most likely forty to fivty years old. So she should have a vocabulary on a sophomore. She likes fist fighting because she grew up with her only friends as her older brother and Dill, so being a girly girl probably wouldn't go over so well. As for calling her dad by his first name you will find out later.
