Alexandra

Has anyone noticed that the more the story progresses, the less that Aunt Alexandra comes off as a snobby, nazi southern lady? When she hosts the tea party, Scout's shining chance to show off little, if any, of her lady-like manners. Scout barely protests and Alexandra isnt rude at all! this kind of dissapoints me, she made a funny strict southern lady but I like how you get to see her in depth more in the story.

Yea, at first I didn't really like her because she seemed mean and snobby, but she really kind of changed.

I am disappointed with what Alexandra has turned into. Where did that old mean aunt go that we loved to hate go? It sadens me.

I like the original Aunt Alexandra. I agree that she has changed, but she has really lost her spunk.

I agree! I mean, I didn't like her at all, but you always have to have a character (or two) in the book that you hate! I wish she'd change back and Scout would just keep arguing with her.

I think that it is Scout that has changed, not Aunt Alexandra. Earlier, she came off as being very snobby only because you see her through Scout's point of view and Scout is resiting becoming a lady. Now, Scout's view has changed and so does the reader's perception of Alexandra.
