The Ewells

I think this is a pretty accurate representation of them. Except, in my opinion, Mr. Ewell should be foaming at the mouth since he's obviously insane. Because, you know, he spat on Atticus. Ew. Filthy, filthy man.

And foaming at the mouth, which is associated with rabies, has to do with spitting on Atticus how?

My favorite are definantly the shorts. plus, I think the hair should have maybe an insect or rodent nesting in there.

Well, my friend, I did say that he was deranged. Rabid dogs are crazy, similar to Mr. Ewell.
Also the foam could be his tobacco spit, since he does chew tobacco.
Whatever you prefer.

Very true.He would be someone with a mullet.

Actually, no where did you say in your original post that he was deranged. Still, foam wouldn't form just because of tabacco. So his tobacco spit would not be foam. Foam is foam and spit is spit.

OR he could have picked up rabies from one of his children who bit him out of self defense. The child obviously got rabies from one of the sick dogs rambling around the dump behind their house.
I'm sticking with my first story, but you can pick whatever you want.

i think that better than you was trying to relate something to the fact of Mr.Ewell spitting on Atticus, or the tobacco he chews.I think the relation works.

Genis Sage, give it up. I think it's pretty obvious that if you are southern trash, you have a 75% chance of having rabies. Better Than You has nicely potrayed this.

Pardon, insane. "Except, in my opinion, Mr. Ewell should be foaming at the mouth since he's obviously insane."

DICTIONARY.COM defines froth as "3. froth formed from saliva in the mouth, as in epilepsy and rabies." From what, saliva? And saliva is defined as "a viscid, watery fluid, secreted into the mouth by the salivary glands, that functions in the tasting, chewing, and swallowing of food, moistens the mouth, and starts the digestion of starches."

So saliva is spit, and froth is saliva, so in essence, I am correct.

Exactly, he COULD have gotten rabies, but he DIDN'T actually have it. Thank you for proving my point.

Who cares who foams or spits?! Mr. Ewel is described as insulting others while he himself is no honorable man. Plus, he lives in bad living conditions and should probably have a long bath with lots of soap.

Genis Sage said...

I suppose, that is if we were discussing what froth and saliva were.

Whoever said that he DIDNT have rabies in the book? obviously the author didnt specify either point, so, Genis Sage, let us have our fun with our vivid, grotesque, morbid imagination.

I never said he had rabies. Never never never. You did. I just compared it to rabies after you pointed out that foaming at the mouth was associated with rabies. Then went off of it. In my original post, I said he was crazy. Not rabid.

Thank you for taking everything I say so literally.

Actually, we were discussing foam and spit. To quote you "Actually, no where did you say in your original post that he was deranged. Still, foam wouldn't form just because of tabacco. So his tobacco spit would not be foam. Foam is foam and spit is spit."

What is that post on? Oh yes, froth and spit.

It's truely sad how people have to team up just to prove a point they both obviously know is wrong. But whatever, do and say what you will. My original stand point still stands.

ok, seriously, if you didnt have anything better to do than fight Better Than You on a merely silly post.......and I dont even think you have a point.

-bee bee beebeepbeebeep- Pardon the interruption, but we have some breaking news for you: Other people agree with me.
I'll break down your original post for you.
"And foaming at the mouth, which is associated with rabies, has to do with spitting on Atticus how?"
Foam is spit. Since his foam was so readily available, he could easily spit on atticus. The foam was there because I said he is craqzy, which in my opiniono (and others') is true.

There's the connection.
